Resumen

Resumen: El Istmo de Tehuantepec, situado en el sur de México, representa una región de importancia histórica y contemporánea, tanto en el ámbito nacional como internacional. Esta franja de tierra, la más estrecha del país, constituye una barrera natural que separa el Océano Pacífico del Golfo de México y, por ende, el Atlántico. La relevancia del Istmo de Tehuantepec no solo se debe a su peculiar geografía, sino también a su rica historia, en particular en lo referente a su papel en la economía y geopolítica mexicana y de América Central. Abstract: Tehuantepec Isthmus is in the south of Mexico, this represents a region of historical and contemporary importance, both nationally and internationally. This stretch of land, the narrowest in the country, constitutes a natural barrier separating the Pacific Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico and, therefore, the Atlantic. The significance of the Tehuantepec Isthmus is not only due to its unique geography but also its rich history, particularly in terms of its role in Mexican and Central American economy and geopolitics.
