Resumen

To update the knowledge on the state of marine macrophytes aroundGuanahacabibes peninsula, 22 stations to the north of the peninsula were sampled and data on the south from previous studies were used. A checklist of macrophyte species was performed. The inventory of species gave five Magnoliophyta, 95 Chlorophyta, 88 Rhodophyta, and 35 Ochrophyta, with nine new records for the area. The south presented more taxa than the north probably due to rocky bottoms predominance that induced the settlement of macroalgae.
