Resumen

The community structure of the macrozoobenthos was determined during the summer of 2017 in English Port Caleta of the city of Ilo Moquegua-Peru region. For the sampling, perpendicular transects to the shoreline were used at mesolitoral and infralittoral levels of sandy substrate. The Penchaszadeh cylinder methodology was used, and the specific wealth, abundance, and vertical distribution of macrozoobenthos were determined. When analyzing the taxonomic composition of the macrofauna, it highlighted the presence of three main phyla: Mollusca (15 species), Arthropoda (12 species), and Annelida (5 species). However, the abundance by phyla was inverse, being Annelida (69%), Arthropoda (14%), and Mollusca (13.5%) the groups that had greater abundance. Diversity was determined at each sampling stratum through the Shannon Weaver, Pielou Equity, and Simpson indexes. Furthermore, the community structure was compared to each sampling stratum using the Similarity of Bray Curtis indexes, non metric multidimensional scaling analysis (nMDS), and K dominance curves.
